Rebottomed in timber by Rex Wain at Brinklow Boat
Services in 2019 Victory has spent the last 8 years at Brinklow Boat Services under restoration. After re-bottoming, the hull was inspected in detail and steel let-in where there were thin spots mainly in the bow and Uxter plates, and the hull was straightened somewhat where she had been impacted in some prior incident. Later the timber cabin was in large part removed and much of the fit-out also. The engine was replace like-for-like (circa 1940s Lister CE) onto the original Bolinder engine bearers and a reproduction Bolinder engine room arrangement as constructed. The back-cabin was retained, it being built around 1979 by Malcolm Webster, and restored with timber replacement as required and paint being applied to new/worn areas with the maximum original being kept. The fore-cabin was reduced in length such that the boat overall resembles her appearance as Pacific under Yates Bros ownership albeit with 7' of cabin ahead of the engine room, and the remaining forward replaced in decking. The external furniture (chimneys, vents, hatches etc.) has been put back as per the photographs of Pacific circa 1950 as closely as possible. All timberwork was done in African hard-wood to the very highest standard, with maximum paint protection applied, so we hope that with good care the boat will remain tip-top for a good while now. Finally the boat is renamed back to Pacific and is being finished in the Yates Bros livery
