JANUS

JANUS.  c1900

(Mick Dolphin)

The photograph to the left was taken almost at the same time as that above but there are several differences. In particular note the two men standing on the counter and the houses in the background which have been removed in the darkroom.

With thanks to Chris M Jones and Narrowboat, Summer 2010 (see p 44 for the full explanation)

JANUS on the cover of Narrowboat Magazine, Spring 2010

(by kind permission of the artist, Christopher M. Jones and NarrowBoat Magazine)

Reproduced from NarrowBoat, Spring 2011.

Christopher M Jones explains:

The steamer .. has a upward sweep to the cabin roof  line. JUPITER had a very straight edge to the cabin roof ….. and JASON

(is) not much different; but JANUS did have an upward sweep so I plumped for that one.”

Now 99% sure that this is JANUS, deductions by Mark Pullinger (incidentally confirmed by the comments above)
